The microphone and speaker are protected by a full-face waterproof membrane that prevents freezing in extreme conditions. The PTT button is fully sealed so moisture, snow, and deep powder never interfere with performance. Avalanche testing has shown that radio transmit buttons can become stuck during a burial, blocking communication during rescue efforts. That’s why all Oxbow radios include a 30-second timeout feature: if a button becomes held down, the radio stops transmitting after 30seconds, allowing your group to regain communication.
The license-free Renegade X features 22 channels and 121 sub-channels. Its removable lithium-ion battery and power-saving technology provide over 50+ hours of use.
